OUR STUDENTS

Research has shown that the impact of social-emotional learning (SEL) runs deep. SEL programs are shown to increase academic achievement and positive social interactions, and decrease negative outcomes later in life. Our students shift from tolerance to acceptance because of our way of teaching and understanding their unique views.

School Activities

Students and Schools both benefit from our curriculum. Social-emotional learning (SEL) helps improve kids' academic performance, curtail bullying, reduce dropout rates, and build character. A well-implemented SEL program positively affect students' success in school therefore the educators see and feel comfortable to engage in positive, confident building activities. Students and staff build a bond and when they have mutual understanding, the teamwork amongst their peers builds as well.

Students learn to set goals in the activities they take part in. Sports, art, dance, whatever they feel comfortable and willing to participate in will give them reasons to accept the learning process.

After School

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, educators around the country are seeing an increasing need to support young people who may be struggling with anxiety, depression, fear, trauma, food insecurity or even homelessness. And nearly two-thirds of parents feel that their children’s social and emotional development has been affected by the pandemic, according to research from the EASEL Lab at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

Social and emotional learning (SEL) strategies can support young people as they cope with and recover from the pandemic, but the classroom is not the only setting to engage students on SEL. Afterschool and summer learning programs also can provide unique opportunities to help young people develop their social and emotional skills, behaviors and beliefs, which can help kids manage the challenges they have faced over the past two years.
